Colin Brunet

Senior Consultant – DC Design

Colin brings 20 years of proven industry acumen to a variety of roles including: design and sales support, engineering, manufacturing, and project management. Prior to consulting, Colin honed his DC design ingenuity with The Econo-Rack Group of Companies. A well known rack manufacturer and provider, as well as Automha Americas Automation Corp, a warehouse automation solution provider.

Recognized throughout his career as an effective problem solver, Colin’s skill set encompasses: MHE solution development and facility layout, CAD development, custom design, alternative product development, and project management.

Colin’s extensive career has provided design solutions and support for projects across North America including:

Peak Products, Abbott Nutrition, Henkel-Dial, Katoen Natie, Coca Cola, John Vince Foods, Hopewell  Logistics, Canadian Tire, Millennium Products, Solartechnics, Nestle, Herbalife and Walmart.

The pursuit of custom solutions requires an agile approach, anchored to a foundation of proven  results and competent experience.

  • Herbalife
Colin worked directly with the client developing a complete production facility MHE design  employing numerous traditional and semi-automated storage systems, custom storage solutions, stand-alone interactive load handling machines as well as a fully automated load  handling system. Collaborating with all vendors through procurement, overseeing required design and engineering. Shortly after the installation began, Colin took over full time project  management and spent the following 10 months working to oversee the operation to successful completion.
  • Solartechnics
Solartechnics looked to employ racking material to support a roof mounted solar installation.  Ready to proceed with manufacture, a problem was discovered; the rack to roof support connections had been installed prematurely and did not account for the spatial tolerances of the design. Installation of the structure as designed would be impossible. Colin designed a custom connection unit providing the required adjustability in each direction. The result  allowed the structures to be installed level and square as intended and the design effort was  completed without compromising the project schedule.
  • Walmart
Colin assisted Walmart in the development and implementation of a highly custom “Pick Module”  design for DC operations that supported smaller market locations. Overseeing all aspects of the  project through manufacturing and installation. The design was implemented in each of Walmart’s three primary DC locations in Canada.
